This part of competition really tends to freak people out.
They think "I have to take a test?!" and get scared.
Here's why you don't need to worry.
- While it does account into your score and how you place, it doesn't matter as much as the other components. This means that plenty of people get B's and C's on their exam but do well on their role play and win
- These tests are very easy to study for and lots are common sense questions
But! This doesn't mean you ignore the test all together!
While there's lots of common sense questions, there are very difficult vocab questions that tests if you've studied or not. Not studying at all will earn you a C at most. It just means that the idea of a test shouldn't make you not want to go to competition.
The good news is that if you're in a business or IT program, lots of the vocab and concepts will come easy for you. And if you're not, fear not! You don't need prior background to learn this.

- Scoring higher on the test might be the tie-breaker between you and another person who got the same score on the role play- besides, you don't know what will be given for the role play, but the exams stay pretty consistent throughout the years.
- Studying for exams prepares you for the role plays. Judges love professional language and business terminology!!
